  • For those who, like me, have always lived in the neighborhood, the pigneto park will remain forever the Pineta Sacchetti. All operations to give luster and dignity to old places redeveloped, please, but we who are rooted in the territory, we will never call it the Pigneto. Apart from purely bureaucratic disquisitions, the pine forest is a large green lung that oxygenates the whole neighborhood. Especially in the hot hours, in the summer, taking refuge in the villa among the tree-lined boulevards, in the shade of the high pines, is really a blessing of the sky. As long as, however, fires do not happen, even catastrophic, as happened in the recent past, when the skies suddenly darkened and the air became pungent and unbreathable. Plagues of our sick modernity, due both to chance, but also and above all to the superficiality and carelessness of man. In a reframe of nostalgia, for those who are my peers, I remember the chills down my back just naming the Valley of Hell, known to all of us. Life changes, fortunately, even if it leaves the signs of the inexorable passage of time!

  • A place of passage of my childhood primavallina:) The Pineto Park today for me forever will remain the "Pineta Sacchetti. I still remember when 13-year-old with a friend we descended down into the "hell Valley" Valle Aurelia and a comic-book store that I liked and that has now been moved. Then already enchanted by the beautiful mixture in the town of uncultivated green spaces and great palaces. Only in 2008, I discovered that the Park hides a polychrome jewel coming from ancestral times. In fact the famous usitata part of entrance with the pine forest and the terrace with a lovely panoramic view with St. Peter that stands, follows a steep to be discovered. In this Infernal descent will meet reed beds and grasslands and a maze of paths that wind coming up at Gemelli hospital. In the lower part of the Park a dense forest archaic "Maquis" who cherishes clays and sandstones of all colors that recall the ancient submergence marina in the area which is famous in Monte Mario and his local fossils. Walking you will have the impression of being real explorers encountering abandoned old structures, channels, subways and dense thickets will breathe the atmosphere a little mystery of the old movies and vintage years starring kids struggling with who knows what ... I refer to the revived IT for example;)

  • My walk to the Park from Pineto took place on a Sunday morning, beginning at the Pineta Sacchetti to exit the Gate via Stencils. The place would be very nice, especially now in the spring, the flowering of wild plants. Is a very large space where you could walk or run in the Green and is even higher then in some places you can see a nice view from the dome of St. Peter up to the mountains in the distance. Unfortunately it is in total disrepair, the grass is too high, it probably has never been cut, and there are so many waste abandoned and even abusive settlements hidden among the Brambles so a walk can become dangerous. I wonder why a space so beautiful should be left in this degradation.

  • One of the less known and most beautiful parks in Rome. Wild and partially untouched.
  • I loved walking around the area... Also unlike what I have heard it's a very safe place to hang out.
  • Nice place for mountain cycling, however is seems like there is very bad maintenance from government side. Place is beautiful also because looks very wild, with its small waterfalls and old handmade bridges, broken trees and etc.
  • Nice and a good park to take a run when kept clean.
  • Nice for a walk
