  • We leave San Pedro and walk towards Castillo de San Angelo and from there we pass in front of this palace. It is also on the banks of the Tiber and here is the headquarters of the Supreme Court, etc... although we already know, from saying to fact there is a good stretch... Justice!

  • This is the place where the "hermellini" exercise, the body that is at the top of the Italian jurisdiction. The function of the Supreme Court of Cassation is to verify that the law has been applied correctly and that, in the previous courts, the process has taken place according to the current rules. That said, the Palazzaccio, as we Romans love to call it, built on the project of the architect Calderini, is the result of the magnificent design of its author who wanted to speak a language of united and modern Italy. The remarkable size and total exterior coating in travertine, express the intention to build a real temple to Justice. Many artists were involved in the realization of the decorative, iconographic and symbolic program: the statues, wooden furnishings, stained glass windows, drapes and lighting equipment leave you astonished. Well, congratulations, visiting him was really exciting.

  • The FAI days of autumn have allowed, thanks to the work and dedication of the volunteers of the Rome delegation, a complete and comprehensive visit of this immense work, imposing and Machiavellianly majestic. Thanks to their narrators, it was possible to know in depth the history of this palace, visit it far and wide, access to places that, otherwise, would always be denied to almost all of us. Particularly striking is the fact that we were able to visit the office of the first president of the Court of Cassation and to have seen the seal that, in fact, enshrines the promulgation of each of our laws and, for this reason, derives the diction of " "We're going to have to do this," he said. Thanks to the organization of the FAI and its volunteers, I really appreciated this building that, externally and before the visit had never convinced me at all but instead, internally and after the visit , left me pleasantly amazed by its imposing severity, for the sense of absolute power it transmits and for its history that affects, often and willingly, the life of our nation and that is breathed extensively along its corridors and in its vast environments.
