  • In recent years known to visitors thanks to the days of the FAi, the Palace was accessible in the past as seat in the main floor of the bar, which then opened out to its members and in various official occasions, making admire vintage saloons late Baroque and their frescoes. Among other things, the Palace is located in via del Governo Vecchio which houses some other monuments and buildings nearby, very useful for the tourist who wants to bring a vivid picture of Renaissance and baroque Rome. We are on the side at the old town square where is situated the Palace built by wealthy merchants Corcos, who at the time of Pope Boncompagni at the end of the sixteenth century, the Catholic divienendo and retracted, receiving privileges and honorary posts, assumed the surname and the same coat of arms of the Pope. The façade has two floors plus two mezzanine levels, with alternating rows of large and small Windows. Splendid and imposing portal with columns supporting a balustraded balcony, in the middle of the door a big shell from which hang two streamers, while the capitals are dragon heads, heraldic symbol of Banda, which appear also on the ledge. The decoration, especially the sumptuous interiors, were entrusted to the painter Carlo Cesi, on the basis of an ambitious figurative intending to resume the themes of Palazzo Farnese. An environment dedicated to the Virgin, presents on the altar the so-called Madonna di Monte Giordano, moved here from the original location on the outer wall after having been the subject of great popular devotion.
