  • It is also the name of the hotel where I stayed, so I visited in my spare time. The site of the national museum Diocletian's baths was very vast, with the Church of Santa Maria degli Angeli connected. I went there in the afternoon of August 13th, but i can see it carefully because it was empty inside. But I didn't have much time, so I was on the run. I wanted to take about 2 hours to take a closer look!!

  • Yes, it's a big old place, remodeled many times over the millennia. It has some old busts and sculptures around, but mostly in poor condition or just not that notable. Most of what's inside seems to h...  more »
  • This part of the Roman National Museum, like several other places in Rome, makes us feel traveling in time. Looking at walls, works, such ancient spaces, you can imagine what life was like so many centuries ago! The space of this museum is very rich in things to see, both in collection and the architecture of the place itself, the largest Roman Terma. The day I went there was a room designing a movie explaining a few things from the place and where a computerized reconstruction of space could also be seen: what a wonderful thing! Looking at the ruins it is already possible to be admired, but having more visual information of what the place was like at the time of its construction only made me even more impressed with the executive capacity of the Romans.

  • We hired the audio guides too. It was a bit confusing to know where the guides begun, and we got lost a few times, so had to guess which section to listen to. But an interesting visit, with good bite sized collections to look and learn about. We were especially interested to learn how slaves could become freemen etc in ancient times. Made Rome seem less brutal I suppose :) And I totally would have gone there back in the baths magnificent marble-sculptured hey day!!!
  • A lot of interesting artifacts from the Roman era. Texts in English and very well explained. Definitely worth to visit if you're in Rome. Entrance is 12€ for 4 museums that you can visit in 3 days.
  • An awesome place to visit, you shouldn't skip this museum. The building itself is a piece of historical art! You can find there authentic elements from the 1st venture and even before. Very well organized, and to visit the national museums you should book 2 days! They're huge and you can enter the 4 of the Roman national museums by getting just 1 ticket to book ahead and enjoy the amazing elements they have there. I totally recommend these interesting museums.
  • Tried to enter based off the passes I had obtained through the Omnia and Roma Pass. Lady at the front desk was one of the rudest people I’ve encountered in Italy or Europe for that matter. Could use some training on customer service in general and to be more helpful in such a museum with lower attendance and hardly any lines. Almost went back to enjoy it but she ruined my experience
  • We were surprised to see only few people. It's as if we have the place all to ourselves. We loved the place, a lot of ancient tools and materials they've used before. We even enjoyed the seats near the garden at the center, sat there and just enjoyed the place.
