It is away from the main avenue and certainly desert and abandoned; groups of young people doing bottle crowd on its steps early in the afternoon, when the sun sets. The houses that are to its around feel empty and abandoned. No ride is worth. Instagram: u22ostol

It is unknown to most people and you understand why: out of area and inconvenient to reach, from the outside has a repugnant Fascist era architecture that does not want to enter. But inside there are some splendid things, though for the most part casts and replicas. Just two examples: Trajan's column completely unwound (there would be no other way to read the whole thing!), and the model of Imperial Rome that jaw-dropping for the richness of the structures of the time. Only thing, pay no attention to the fingers of dust ...

Probably still go here is worth those who vividly interested in the history of Rome and has already visited all the major ancient sights in the Centre, including forums, arches, Roman baths, the Colosseum and other theatres and circuses. Because here you can find some quintessential succinctly and in one place. Copy of Trajan's column in the cut shakes, as well as the famous model of ancient Rome. The past few months the Museum restoration and rumor has it that he will move to a new location.

  • Was closed until some date in the future. English website didn't work, so we didn't see this before coming, and there was no notice, so we ended up circling the building until someone accidentally noticed us and told us it was closed.
  • As far as I know, the museum is closed. tourists who would like to enjoy visiting the site might be disappointed, though it's been one the last location to welcome James Bond Daniel Craig and the sensual beauty queen Monica Bellucci on Specter (cemetery scene )
  • Great museum building for achitecture lovers fascist style
  • Nice example of italian architecture and hilarious as a museum, because it contains only replicas and models.
  • Nice museum. But they started closing almost half an hour before closing time. I had to gotten of 10 minutes before closing time. Very rude with tourists.

Where to stay in Rome

For easy foot access to most of the city's main historical sites, consider staying in Rome's old town center. The area is conveniently placed for public transport, only a walk away from the city's main railway station. Accommodations here span all hotels sectors, from cheap hostels to luxury brand names. To avoid the steep prices and overcrowding of the town center, explore the hotels in the inner suburbs of Rome. They offer comfortable rooms and excellent food at a fraction of the price charged by the centrally located hotel chains. Another affordable option is the area around Vatican, which boasts a good selection of family-owned B&Bs.
