  • Interesting place with a huge, eventful history. In different periods of time, the castle was used as a mausoleum, fortress, prison, papal residence and its Treasury. Now in the Museum of the bastion, one can get acquainted with the history of the building. The terrace offers scenic views, this may be one of the best observation points of the city. In the dungeons of the Castle were many famous personalities such as: count Cagliostro, Giordano Bruno, Galileo Galilei.

  • Near the Vatican consider to be the best guestbook which can be in the city. Great viewpoint on floor of 360 degrees at different levels where you can observe and photograph everything. A very nice cafe on the top floor with tables in a sort of terrace Hall with large open views. Equipped rooms that on my previous visit a few years ago I remember could be very interesting. The history of its secret passageways and the vision of the Pope of the angel envainando his sword deserve an investigation more before or after you go. In short do not miss it.

  • The oldest castle around town. Looks simple outside but it's complicated inside! It's 5 storey high and alot of rooms inside. Always remember to look up (ceiling) the structure / arts on the ceiling is beautiful. P/S secret pathway to Vatican city!!!!
  • There are many beautiful frescoes and painted ceilings. The architecture is amazing. We enjoyed the view of the city from the top of the castle! It is quite a climb to the top. Audio tours are available.
  • Large self guided walk up the castle on the terraces and inside the villas within. Villas have great frescos and designs to see. At the very top of the castle you get a great view of the city including the Vatican. Note, there is also a restaurant/bar near the top if you're hungry.
  • Nice castle. Beautiful view of Rome from the terrace up top. You can spend a lot of time walking through cool corridors and checking out the castle walls and the inside of the castle. It was free the first Sunday of the month. If you plan on going on the free day, get there early.
  • Very much worth seeing. The whole place is in really amazing condition and you're allowed to visit almost every part of the castle. There's amazing fresco & oil artwork as well as sculptures and museum sections. It's also pretty amazing that there were almost no queues. There's a nice cafe near the top where you can get lunch, drinks or snacks.
