  • We went to the Castel Sant'Angello coming out of the Vatican. Hospitality at the box office was not the warmest but the tour and access to the points of view was however more surprising with a view at 360 ° on the city. A "Caffè" allows the 3rd level of the visit to eat on tables with views on the Vatican and St. Peter's Basilica.

  • This destination is not well rated by the agencies that organize guided tours, I don't know the reason, but it's really very interesting from the point of view of historical and cultural.

  • It takes an effort to see and appreciate the history and marvel at its construction. A veritable maze of corridors and halls all deserve attention.

  • The oldest castle around town. Looks simple outside but it's complicated inside! It's 5 storey high and alot of rooms inside. Always remember to look up (ceiling) the structure / arts on the ceiling is beautiful. P/S secret pathway to Vatican city!!!!
  • There are many beautiful frescoes and painted ceilings. The architecture is amazing. We enjoyed the view of the city from the top of the castle! It is quite a climb to the top. Audio tours are available.
  • Large self guided walk up the castle on the terraces and inside the villas within. Villas have great frescos and designs to see. At the very top of the castle you get a great view of the city including the Vatican. Note, there is also a restaurant/bar near the top if you're hungry.
  • Nice castle. Beautiful view of Rome from the terrace up top. You can spend a lot of time walking through cool corridors and checking out the castle walls and the inside of the castle. It was free the first Sunday of the month. If you plan on going on the free day, get there early.
  • Very much worth seeing. The whole place is in really amazing condition and you're allowed to visit almost every part of the castle. There's amazing fresco & oil artwork as well as sculptures and museum sections. It's also pretty amazing that there were almost no queues. There's a nice cafe near the top where you can get lunch, drinks or snacks.
