  • In the first part the deceptions of the mind with optical illusions-auditory, then you enter the Organization of maniconio and concludes with a series of videos on the history of maniconio in General and more specifically with the Roman experience. Sin is little known because interesting and very modern and technological, if I can give some advice: put a few chairs in front of the last screen, to want to see all of the videos you are standing there an hour and it comes up with a bad back!

  • The Pavilion 6 of the former psychiatric hospital, Santa Maria della Pietà, houses an interesting narrative and sensory path that aims not only to document, through slides, objects and multimedia messages, life inside the structure, but also to stimulate a broader reflection about the problem of mental health and the fragile border between normality and diversity ("Da vicino nessuno è normale") accompanying the viewer into a series of rooms where real perceptual alterations (for example the Ames Room). Personally I was impressed by the testimony of former patients, almost all schizophrenics, that have been collected and transferred to a much more comprehensive audiovisual sequence of a Handbook of Psychiatry. You will have the chance to sit in front of a led and waddled forward will appear painful stories of men and women who have lived for decades within that institution. Some spaces have also been rebuilt as the pizza where the depersonalization — an obligation for the patient to abandon their belongings and to wear a uniform identification tag; doctor's office visits; the room of restraint in which patients were still tied to the bed for days or weeks; the kitchen and here you'll see why all those forks planted on the wall; the pharmacy. Reductive therefore talk about museum visit, this is a real immersion into a memorial site where you just enter on tiptoe. I also wanted to compliment not only with the creators, but with all the staff. Admirable willingness of Miss blonde, Lady at the ticket booth, which allowed us to enter inside the Pavilion, despite the impending curfew. There were noticeable delay, for reasons not attributable to us, and understood our reasons being magnanimous and kind.

  • In itself, the Park of Santa Maria della Pietà is nice, quiet and green space dotted with murals. In addition, the Museum Laboratory of the mind is an interesting space inspired by the former mental hospital which stood in this place (and the psyche in General). There are objects, testimonies and even artistic approaches to the subject. Touching and well done, congratulations! I recommend it to people interested in the subject but also to those who want to spend an enjoyable afternoon amongst the greenery and culture, outside (unfortunately or fortunately) by the canons tourist circuits.
