  • I enjoyed visiting this little corner of Roman prehistoric times. Beyond chaos and beyond concrete, there are still those who care about part of our history dating back thousands of years. The explanations of the guide (I do not remember the name) attracted the curiosity of those present, a symptom of the seriousness with which the museum is cared for. Beautiful morning with an ancient flavor.

  • Having found it very difficult to visit the vote can only be negative. Too bad because such initiatives should be advertised especially in neighbouring neighbourhoods. I recommend then a check and cleaning of the external parts on the road.

  • To visit this museum you need to book at 060608. The museum houses some fossils from the Pleistocenic period (geological period ranging from about 2 million to about 300,000 years ago). During the period of the visit is projected a video explaining the fossils found and their geological period of belonging... The visit takes about an hour.

  • The Museum preserves a portion of an ancient riverbed, dating about 200,000 years ago. During the visit you can see many geological, paleontological and archaeological finds, that leave imagine a lost landscape: ancient rocks shaped by water, big elephant tusks, Paleolithic chipped flints.
  • An hidden gem on one of the least touristic places of Rome. Worth a visit for being part of the history of these giant ancient animals, a time walking by the river used to flow right there.
  • It is a small big jewel, The Pleistocenic Municipal Museum in the Casal De Pazzi district of Rome. In the 1980s, archaeologists stumbled upon a riverbed with finds of bones and tusks of animals transported or wedged under ancient boulders that were submerged at the time. Here the reason has fortunately prevailed on the impetus to transfer the finds and cover everything proceeding with the planned constructions. With some specially designed variants, it has diverted the road making it make a wide curve and safeguarding the precious find. The Museum is born exactly above and incorporates the discovery of the riverbed section itself! To date, visits are completely free but must be booked through the municipal call center. Inside you can see in addition to the exhaustive explanations provided by the guides (and the internal staff dependent), also a movie projected on a huge wall inside the structure, which catches the attention of the adults but especially the smallest. Internal room for up to 30 visitors in turn, where archaeologists and paleontologists provide explanations and give answers to everyone's curiosity. Very manicured outdoor garden and with plants and shrubs planted carefully to reproduce the existing flora of the era. In the last year the management of the Museum has competed and made thealize by a famous street artist, a huge painting on the outer facade of fence, just to simulate a possible scenario of the pleistocenic and attract the attention of the passer-by. The possibility of educational workshops that can be booked for schools. Sometimes they organize events in the small amphitheater with culinary proposals that re-propose the meals of the time. This small but well-maintained Museum, to be protected to the maximum, must be the pride and reference for the suburb itself, which can only benefit from it. #LetsGuide

  • Unique place, a museum built above the rediscovered Pleistocenic site. A trove of finds, including a homo skull bone. Educational, and suitable for everyone. If you want to make a trip through time go and visit it. Don't miss the garden with plants of the era that have come to this day.

  • Cute. Suitable for young children (4-5 years) who discover the life of prehistory thanks to the excellent and patient guides. Plus it's free.
