  • Museum that recently merged the three museums at EUR, Pigorini, Popular Arts and Traditions, and High Middle Ages. Rich in extraordinary artifacts and artifacts, it is a journey that makes you better understand where we come from, who we are and why men from different parts of the world, despite so many different, always create extraordinary and exciting works. Especially in the part of the High Middle Ages, the exhibition apparatus should be urgently awoke, integrating the data on the finds, if possible even in English. The architectural setting that houses the museum then, beyond ideologies, is incredible.

  • For several years I have not visited this valuable museum and today, with my husband, I spent the morning in the halls steeped in history, indeed prehistory, that is our origins. The Museum founded by Luigi Pigorini has been based at the Eur since 1962 (previously it was in a wing of the Palace of the Roman College). The location in rationalism is magnificent, apart from the abandonment and dirt in the area near the entrance. We walked upsteps and halls admiring the HISTORY. We are more interested in the prehistoric section and however we have also seen the ethnographic section. I also look at the floors i carry in the photographs: very particular. Dear reader do not miss this place of culture.

  • On a hot Sunday we decide to visit the Museum of Civilizations:Rome has not yet returned to the usual traffic and it circulates well. Unfortunately an unwelcome surprise inside the museum, located in Rome Eur: there is no air conditioning system and therefore the temperature is suffocating; literally you struggle to breathe. We were in by now, so we made a good face to the situation. The ticket gives access to three museums located in Piazza Marconi: The ethnographic and prehistoric museum, the museum of the high Middle Ages and that of the arts and folk traditions. For lack of time we only visited the former Pigorini (ethnographic and prehistoric). It is very interesting, divided into sectors corresponding to the five continents, contains artifacts of all kinds, from jewelry to furnishings, weapons, canoes, pirogues etc... It is amazing to be able to compare at the same time the cultures and abilities of so many different peoples. There is a plan dedicated to prehistory with the 1:1 scale presentation of some sites of discovery: fabulous. The museum's own building is interesting, including a large polychrome stained glass window and an amazing marble inlay floor depicting the sciences. Too bad I didn't have time to delve into the visit. We promise to dedicate a day to this museum maybe in winter, with acceptable temperatures.

  • This place is full of a trash 😔 interesting place, but death 😕
  • Closed down - but interesting from an architectural perspective
  • The Museo della Civiltà Romana - the Museum of Roman Civilization - is situated in EUR, a modern city that was the brainchild of Fascist dictator Benito Mussolini. It's one of Rome's most interesting museums, however many visitors miss it due to its remote location.
  • As far as I know, the museum is closed. tourists who would like to enjoy visiting the site might be disappointed, though it's been one the last location to welcome James Bond Daniel Craig and the sensual beauty queen Monica Bellucci on Specter (cemetery scene )
  • Was closed until some date in the future. English website didn't work, so we didn't see this before coming, and there was no notice, so we ended up circling the building until someone accidentally noticed us and told us it was closed.
