  • Big, beautiful, sumptuous treasure trove of things Italian. There is a summary of our popular history and traditions. Some collections, such as whistles, are truly fascinating. Everything works, everything is clean including the restrooms that rivals to the glories that these immense local were intended when they were conceived. The Museum of Arts and popular traditions is a place to go back further but he evidently a national target because a foreigner who did not speak the language could take very little. The ticket cost is very low (4 Euros) and also subject to reductions. During our visit in the public holiday of 1 November the number of visitors was lower than that of personnel involved and this is the big limit of a property like this. Culture is difficult to sell; one of the popular traditions even più...ma if you are not able to create incentives to attract buyers then it rests only on the State's budget deficit. This museum is beautiful and well run and should have more visitors to survive over time.

  • This museum documents the folk traditions of all Italian regions and is the only one in our country with such specific expertise and a collection so rich. Unlike its neighbour opposite Pigorini, here we found great cultural ferment. Free Sunday at the Museum, we were able to follow an interesting guided tour and observe a demonstration of lace-making with a bravura ladies indescribable. Very informative especially for children (but not only) that first week organizes workshops for schools. Don't miss the collections of Nativity scenes, the magnificent Hall of honor and the lilies of Nola, taller than 26 metres! Easily accessible by the metro line B to Eur Fermi and several bus lines (30, among others, 714, 170.791)

  • Taking advantage of the free museums ' day (first Sunday of each month), we went to visit this Museum, which turned a beautiful reality. Admission is still only 4 euros per person and they are all strameritati! At the entrance are exposed various means of transport in use at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, then, through an imposing staircase leads to the upper floor. Just left of the "Santa Rosa" machines, with monitors that allow us to "understand" How does this ancient tradition of Viterbo. In the main hall are exposed to every Italian region, folkloristic clothes and objects that were used in the past. Continue your visit in the other rooms where you can admire many objects related to various and ancient crafts. Interesting also the section on religious holidays and the Carnival and the one with the cribs. All arranged beautifully, with explanatory signs comprehensive and Museum staff that, at certain times, goes around to warn visitors of some upcoming events (we have seen demonstrations of the art of tombolo). Kudos to the staff and, more generally, the entire organization!
