Where to stay in Rome

For easy foot access to most of the city's main historical sites, consider staying in Rome's old town center. The area is conveniently placed for public transport, only a walk away from the city's main railway station. Accommodations here span all hotels sectors, from cheap hostels to luxury brand names. To avoid the steep prices and overcrowding of the town center, explore the hotels in the inner suburbs of Rome. They offer comfortable rooms and excellent food at a fraction of the price charged by the centrally located hotel chains. Another affordable option is the area around Vatican, which boasts a good selection of family-owned B&Bs.

  • They boast on the site that you can touch and the experience is interactive but its really not. Though there are many models, its been built for quite some time now and I think they need repairs or replacement. Only mesmerizing thing was holographic projection. Could do better.
  • Be careful with your money/credit at the cash. I paid by credit card and the guy at the cash charged me €59 (instead of €9) and gave me a receipt for €9 ticket. I accidentally checked my credit card online and noticed. I had to go back there the next day to claim the extra €50 he charged me. I don't think it was an honest mistake. This museum is in a basement, it is small and very few artwork. Not worth a visit.
  • Great exhibition. Interactive models of his works and holograms too. If you're an Assassin's Creed fan or have an interest in Leonardo, this is a must see. Lovely staff and cool gift shop.
  • Very informative, was this display at the MOSI in Chicago?
  • Beautiful view ... organized and attention to detail. Interaction with the artwork is something innovative. You can also visit the beautiful palazzo della Cancelleria the archaeological site in the basement. To visit absolutely! x
