  • It was inaugurated in the presence of King Umberto I, on the occasion of the celebrations for the liberation of Rome and the plebiscite of its annexation to Italy. It is in the great square of the last of the modern wards, Prati, dominated by the gigantic palace of Justice, which observes with stern aplomb. Cavour, the great statesman from Piedmont, a supporter of the unity of Italy and Rome Capital, to whom this monument was dedicated, in the center of the square named after him. The sculpture consists of a large granite plinth, on which is grafted a marble pedestal, topped by the bronze statue of the statesman. At the base of the pedestal four allegorical figures, also carved in bronze and two inscriptions, dedicated and dedicated.

  • Nice place, well maintained.
  • Nice park and statue in front of the ornate Supreme Court Building.
  • It is a nice place. But so are so many other places in rome. However it is very relaxed here compared to many other places
  • The monument to Camillo Benso, Count of Cavour, is located in the centre of the homonymous square, very close to the Castel Sant'Angelo. Its author, Stefano Galletti, carried out the work between 1885 and 1895, inaugurating that same year, coinciding with the 25th anniversary of the liberation of Rome. The statue of Camillo Cavour, cast in bronze, depicts the Earl standing, dressed in contemporary clothes, on a high pedestal of grey Carrara marble with inscriptions and low-reliefs. The whole is supported on a granite platform, surrounded by four bronze sculptural groups, with allegorical figures allusive to the unification of Italy.
