Monte Pincio, Rome

#2 of 49 in Parks in Rome
Garden Nature / Park
Escape the noise of the city at Monte Pincio, a park filled with greenery and statues of famous Italian figures. Some of the busts have been worn over time or vandalized, but many are still in good shape. Check out the puppet show, or visit the obelisk at the park’s center. Travel around the park by train, bicycle, or even go-kart. Put Monte Pincio and other Rome attractions into our Rome tour planner, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • If you have a free evening in Rome, take a walk in the Park Pincio and look the view of Rome form above. There are lots of sculptures of famous people from history and art. You can also enter Villa Bo...  more »
  • Magnificent view from the top of the Park of villa Borghese, against the bottom you have the piazza del popolo, and at the end the Vatican and Trastevere.

  • The view over piazza del popolo and the rest of Rome until the dome and beyond is absolutely unforgettable. One of the most beautiful views close together. La terrazza del Pincio is packed at all times. Villa borghese surrounding the terrace is beautiful and humanity that frequents is unique. The maintenance of the villa looks decent, certainly could be better, cleaning has never tops, baskets are brimming regularly, attendance is so high that it would require an ongoing maintenance. One thing that I happened to attend takes place every morning just metres from the terrace, a carousel of atac means passing The garbage from little media in larger vehicles (at least that's what I understand) but can you imagine the noise, the smell and the show that tourists are early risers, dog owners and runners are faced. I wonder if this is necessary, if we cannot find alternative places, if you can avoid similar shows ...

  • Stumbled on an absolute gem. The busts, fountains and the gardens themselves are brilliant. But then there's the view. There also seems to be restaurants and activities like bicycle, peddle cart, segway hire, though we didn't make use of any of that. I imagine that this is where today's Romans come for an hour's respite.
  • It's as nice park, a bit run down and full of homeless, but very quaint, as usual in Rome, don't visit after dark.
  • Wonderful view from Piazza del Popolo and a perfect place to take a break.
  • Great view. A lovely place to be with your family. Although it was a rainy day of April 2016, I was very happy to complete my visit to Villa Borghese with such a view.
  • I love golfing in Dubai but this was incredible, the holes were perfectly round. And it was a great experience for a golfer

Where to stay in Rome

For easy foot access to most of the city's main historical sites, consider staying in Rome's old town center. The area is conveniently placed for public transport, only a walk away from the city's main railway station. Accommodations here span all hotels sectors, from cheap hostels to luxury brand names. To avoid the steep prices and overcrowding of the town center, explore the hotels in the inner suburbs of Rome. They offer comfortable rooms and excellent food at a fraction of the price charged by the centrally located hotel chains. Another affordable option is the area around Vatican, which boasts a good selection of family-owned B&Bs.
