  • Oh my gosh. This market is amazing! We went here as part of a walking food tour. We're definitely going back. Fresh fruit and vegetables, meats, fresh breads. Everything you could possibly imagine. I ...  more »
  • Opened on viale Giulio Cesare at the end of the nineteenth century, in the years ' 30 moved into via Andrea Doria, the 11 March 2009 was inaugurated the new mercato Trionfale, considered the first Roman street market, one of the largest in Italy and even in Europe. Researched by some banks that provide first-fruits and refined goods.

  • Chaotic, lively, truly Italian. We go here weekly to buy our weekly necessities. You can buy vegetables, fruits, meats, seafood, cheese, bread, eggs, grains, and everything else that's edible. If you go regularly, you will see familiar faces and feel like a local.
  • Ohhhh ho ho ho, came to this place for rations prior to entering the Vatican. If you go in the Fall, get porcini mushroom anything and find the old man who runs the draft wine booth. The cheese vendors from one of the charming indoor stands charmed the money right out of us with sample after sample of cheese that has no equal. Next to the Borghese Gallery, the best thing to do in Rome.
  • A must visit if you come to visit Roma. Anything you need from fresh fruit and vegetables to verse and fine wines.
  • I'm keen on shopping on farmers food market where everything is locally produced and super fresh. This mercato is overwhelming with fresh fishes, butchers products, dairy, some ready to eat. You will see how they treat with products or food. Enjoy watching merchants how they warmly communicate with their loyal customers.
  • Best authentic mercato in Roma, well worth seeking out

Where to stay in Rome

For easy foot access to most of the city's main historical sites, consider staying in Rome's old town center. The area is conveniently placed for public transport, only a walk away from the city's main railway station. Accommodations here span all hotels sectors, from cheap hostels to luxury brand names. To avoid the steep prices and overcrowding of the town center, explore the hotels in the inner suburbs of Rome. They offer comfortable rooms and excellent food at a fraction of the price charged by the centrally located hotel chains. Another affordable option is the area around Vatican, which boasts a good selection of family-owned B&Bs.
