  • Former convent currently in use by the Institute for Roman Studies (and rented for wedding-type events on the lower floor), it is not normally open. It is attached to the most famous Orange Garden and therefore has a garden with the exact same breathtaking views of Rome (but without people). Upstairs beautiful inlaid floors and frescoes and a window that frames the Dome (with the same optical effect as the keyhole visible from the gate of the Knights of Malta). Truly Beautiful

  • Thanks to the FAI, we were able to know and appreciate this pearl placed on the Aventine hill, otherwise practically always hidden from us ordinary mortals. In fact, this jewel is normally accessible only to scholars who need to consult texts placed in the library. With the FAI and thanks to the FAI, instead it was possible to visit this institute built in the former Convent of Saints Bonifacio and Alessio and then it was possible, accompanied by the explanations of the talented storytellers, admire (there is no other term) the The cloister, the various rooms of the building, the apartment of Charles IV of Bourbon and the magnificent views over Rome with a wonderful view of the capital. In the end it was a memorable day and I must underline the great work done by the volunteers of the Rome delegation: all organized in a perfect way, with a timetable that has allowed many groups to visit the institute without any Overlap and with a "surgical" precision in the various stages, most appreciable given the great influx of people and despite the very hot day. A great and sincere applause then to the volunteers of the FAI, people who devote their time and their energies to the sole purpose of making known "pearls" as the National Institute of Roman Studies, literally revealing them to many of us.

  • Boring to stand in line but after you get paid. Practically the heart of the Old convent is the sixteenth-century cloister-on the walls of the cloister is an important collection of epigraphs of medieval times. The Loggia leads into a vast open garden on a spectacular view of Rome. To the entire rooms with eighteenth-century decorations, the part of the noble floor occupied by the royal apartment.

  • Former convent and for a period, in 800, also summer residence of the Spanish King Charles IV today there is the Institute of Roman Studies. The complex has remained almost intact with its cloister with a well and medieval inscriptions in the middle. In One wing we find the Royal apartments with beautiful polychrome marble floors from Roman-era buildings. From the small garden you have a wonderful view of the Tiber and Rome. There is a bookshop and a library.
