  • We had one day in Rome and after the Colosseum we headed up the river straight to this park (after stop offs for lunch & gelato!). We spent a good part of the afternoon exploring and sitting by the fo...  more »
  • The whole via Borghese side is filled with a lush park where you can pick a spot in the sun, or under the trees. Get some drinks and enjoy anywhere. Just be sure to keep an eye on your stuff as there ...  more »
  • The Park is huge with many trails, games for kids, and as in this case. Prettier does but it is not essential if you don't see what you change anything in your walk.

  • Definitely recommend coming out to this park. It's really good. Not touristy. Not crowded. Super romantic. Kinda quiet. Great view of the plaza below.
  • Beautiful park with a great view over the city. You can rent a boat for 20 minutes for 3 euros each on the gorgeous lake, where I proposed to my girlfriend. You will also usually spot some great buskers and music. The only annoying thing is the men trying to flog you roses every 5 minutes, I wish the police would move them on as they can be very persistent. Tell them forcefully to move on or they will keep bothering you!
  • Huge and beautiful park. Lots of nice areas to either play with kids, lay around and relax or even have lunch at. There's a nice lake where you can rent a row boat and enjoy the scenery. Some spots weren't well maintained though.
  • This a review on the park only, it is GORGEOUS!!! You have to stop here even if it's only for 30 minutes. Romantic, beautiful, and magical. Granted, my boyfriend had proposed earlier that day, so of course I was on cloud nine. But take a bottle of wine with you and your significant other, and you'll have a blast.
  • The art collection is impressive and quite dense. Even with the time-limited entry, areas could get fairly crowded. Only some of the pieces are clearly labeled. We would have liked more information on exactly what we were seeing.

Where to stay in Rome

For easy foot access to most of the city's main historical sites, consider staying in Rome's old town center. The area is conveniently placed for public transport, only a walk away from the city's main railway station. Accommodations here span all hotels sectors, from cheap hostels to luxury brand names. To avoid the steep prices and overcrowding of the town center, explore the hotels in the inner suburbs of Rome. They offer comfortable rooms and excellent food at a fraction of the price charged by the centrally located hotel chains. Another affordable option is the area around Vatican, which boasts a good selection of family-owned B&Bs.
