  • Beautiful and kept really well, the gardens are the right crowning achievement of a historic and important palace like the Quirinale. I highly recommend the visit on the route, given the guided route.

  • We too were there on the afternoon of 2 June, after disposing of the disappointment of not being able to witness the traditional parade up close because this year, unbeknownst to most, the grandstand occupied the whole route. Too bad, since we had made so many km to see, once in life, this event. Returning to the gardens, the unfortunately lack of signposts forced us to take a long tour of the goose and then find ourselves, almost at the starting point, at the bottom of a long queue that fortunately turned out to be very smooth: in less than half an hour we were at the first control point. The second was already in the courtyard of the Quirinale: palace that must be a splendor! Four historic presidential cars were on display in the courtyard. Crossing the short passage here we are on the terrace with a beautiful view of Rome. A few more steps and we are in the garden. A beautiful green lawn, well cared for, with the fountain whose sculptural group is the reproduction of what can be admired at the bottom of the palace of Caserta. Going further, apart from a few centuries-old trees, there is little more. I don't know if the gardens end there or just the visitable part but honestly I expected more. As we headed for the exit, we noticed an assembly, approached and asked. That's how we found out (but obviously there were those who already knew) that soon the President of the Republic would pass to greet the visitors: which he did very cordially.

  • For the anniversary of the Republic, the garden of the Quirinale is open to the public. On the afternoon of June 2nd Mariarosaria and I line up to visit the garden. After thorough but quick checks we enter and the first view is from the terrace: magnificent Rome! A human tide has poured into the ancient garden. I say ancient because it is a centuries-old garden, a naturalistic ecosystem that dates 1400. The cheering crowd was also there to pay tribute to President Mattarella who greeted everyone with great friendliness. The garden is full of fine plants and hedges, palm trees and statues. We couldn't observe carefully: there were a lot of people like at a party. It was the feast of the Italian Republic.
