  • The gallery is very hot in warm weather but there is a fine selection of great art (if not necessarily well-curated) and I would not have wanted to miss it. Because Galleria Nazionale di Arte Antica i...  more »
  • The building is free to enter, and interesting. You can only buy a combined ticket for this and Barberini. The gallery was small, very hot , and most of the artwork of interest to me was either being ...  more »
  • Because it was going to go to the Farnese Palace was closed at 5, Padova so walked in. Not to go to the Gallery reception immediately doing something seminars on the following you in the intently listened to the story, but we go near, something became worried from the beginning. Look at work rely on paper placed in the room did not examine the word of mouth is really sloppy is exhibited, without the name of the work description was quite cumbersome and have seen others on the way. Still the "John the Baptist" Caravaggio's delicate than what John saw in Rome this year, liked. Women's road from behind the Trastevere section look like downtown really nice, this lifelong love Raphael Baker who was walked I imagined is that it might have been good works also was a sorry exhibition.

  • One of the best Rome "old fashioned" art galleries with classical layout. Very recommendable !
  • Outstanding collection.
  • A bit of a disapointment. Even the Caravaggio was not there. It was on loan.
  • Excellent quality of the picture gallery, unfortunately the paintings are arranged very badly (was respected the original arrangement) and it is not easy to admire them. Often the building houses other exhibits. take advantage of the first Sunday of every month for a free tour.

Where to stay in Rome

For easy foot access to most of the city's main historical sites, consider staying in Rome's old town center. The area is conveniently placed for public transport, only a walk away from the city's main railway station. Accommodations here span all hotels sectors, from cheap hostels to luxury brand names. To avoid the steep prices and overcrowding of the town center, explore the hotels in the inner suburbs of Rome. They offer comfortable rooms and excellent food at a fraction of the price charged by the centrally located hotel chains. Another affordable option is the area around Vatican, which boasts a good selection of family-owned B&Bs.
