  • As I wrote in another review, in Rome I think there is the highest concentrated fountain in the world. You will cross dozens and dozens of them, some incredible, some beautiful and some anonymous, not because they are not beautiful, but because they are lost in the context and also because they are partly "abandoned", this crosses by chance walking.

  • We had dinner at the Invictus restaurant in piazza di San Simeone. It was by accident that we found this place, but definitely glad we did.  more »
  • It is a fountain located in its namesake Piazza San Simone. Even though it may still sunny and hot days was visited. Fountain Square pedestal basin on glue, relief on people's faces on each side that constantly water spouted out mouth was. Have walked from Piazza San Pietro, cool for was stopped by the fountain. The fountain on the pedestal also things that are shaped like a mushroom on a roll, mushroom Cap piece is like a basin, water was not. Is a funny form unbalanced a little up and down. Piazza and San Simeon is called Vecchio Rome coronari Street coronari as somewhat to the Piazza Navona square in the old town of historical, It is a straight road heading West from the north end of the Piazza Navona and at the foot of Sant Angelo bridge and arrive at the quaint old stone-paved. It was a good hotel very friendly Street.

  • Nice simple fountain, among a plethora of elaborate choices. It's simplicity is not to be underestimated though! When you find yourself in need of a refuge from the throngs of crowds, San Simone fountain is the place to go!
  • In the Piazzetta of S. Simeone there is a pretty fountain, the genesis to get to its current form and location, as for many other monuments of Rome, is long and articulated. The origin is from the sixteenth century and was designed by the great Giacomo Della Porta, it was for public use and for this reason quite simple, with a single catino adorned with papal coats of arms. In the following century, the second basket was added, supported by an evocative marble cube with four masquerade-shaped bas-reliefs, from which water spills out, which pours over the larger basin. A century later, the largest catino was replaced with the one currently present with the coats of arms of the four city administrators present at that time (the so-called Conservatives). The fountain was originally located in Montanara Square that disappeared due to the work (in the thirties of the last century) for the construction of today's Via del Teatro Marcello and after a period of stay in the garden of the Oranges was finally transferred in 1973 in this square. The fountain is raised by a circular step paved with stones and delimited with 8 columns connected by iron bars, which create the area of respect of the artifact. At present the fountain would need a restoration.

  • Lovely antique fountain in the heart of Rome. Built in 1589 to a design by Giacomo Della Porta after a thousand vicissitudes and various movements was definitively placed on site in 1973.
