  • Great work by Giovanni Fontana, is located in piazza Trilussa, where it has been moved and reassembled at the end of the 800. You can see coming from ponte Sisto.

  • Exit Ponte Sisto, you end up in Piazza Trilussa, a little square dominated by the fontana dell'Acqua Paola. The fountain was originally located on the opposite side of the River, against the backdrop of Via Giulia, was transferred in this square at the end of 1800 following the construction of embankments of the River Tiber. It is built with a wall of blocks of travertine and the beautiful arch is surrounded by columns and pillars dating from 1600. The bases of the columns are decorated with dragons, heraldic symbol of middle-class family. At the top, the composition is closed by a pediment with an inscription, surmounted by the large coat of arms of middle-class House. Water leaks from the top of the arch and form of water spout, from the mouths of dragons. Impressive stairs at the foot of the fountain, place of rest for weary tourists and for those who want to watch a bit of Roman nightlife in the evening.

  • Nice fountain, located very conveniently at end of Sistine bridge.
  • Characteristic sit on the steps of one of the evening's meeting point for venturing into the neighborhood of Trastevere. And while attede always performs some street artist. Not to be missed
  • Famous for its most popular/crowded steps where a good part of the trastevere movida arranges to meet
  • Meeting point for locals
  • 17th century fountain originally located across the Tiber at the end of via Giulia. After the 1870 because of renovation of the banks of the River was moved to Piazza Trilussa at the top of a staircase, since then until nowadays is one of the main meeting places of Trastevere.

Where to stay in Rome

For easy foot access to most of the city's main historical sites, consider staying in Rome's old town center. The area is conveniently placed for public transport, only a walk away from the city's main railway station. Accommodations here span all hotels sectors, from cheap hostels to luxury brand names. To avoid the steep prices and overcrowding of the town center, explore the hotels in the inner suburbs of Rome. They offer comfortable rooms and excellent food at a fraction of the price charged by the centrally located hotel chains. Another affordable option is the area around Vatican, which boasts a good selection of family-owned B&Bs.
