  • This nice fountain stands at the northern end of the Piazza Navona, and it was erected in 1576. The fountain symbolize the sea God Neptune. Definitely worth a visit!

  • There are many wonderful fountains in Rome, many of them very old.In Piazza del Popolo are three of them, including this one.Very beautiful, with very accurate looking statues.
  • Most of our puteshestvenikov naively believe that the name of the square on which stands the fountain originated from the words popolo (people), no, it comes from the word populus (poplar), which grew over the Church of Santa Maria del Popolo. Yes and half no pictures this fountain and from Piazza Navona. Some, judging from the hosted pics, just confused him with standing opposite a fountain of Rome. So here it is on your right if you look at the Via del Corso towards Piazza Venezia. Neptune is huge! Built in 19 century aptly fits the ensemble of the square. Get up close, water does not zabryzgaet.

  • Amazing for its storytelling and ornate detail. This is the second most visited of the three fountains in the piazza.
  • Lovely fountain with interesting statues (lots of cherubs grabbing animals making water pour out of them!)
  • Ok Siri might take you here but I Googled it. This a nice neighborly square mixed with lots, lots tourist and locals, day and night. Very arty with street painters either painting you for money or sale you what they've painted. Small vendors of cheap gifts of all kinds (Made in China, most of them). Except the coffee pot stores have nice choices with a higher cost which I did skipped, too heavy to carry those gorgeous coffee pots/cups back to US anyway. My advise is bring high end, great picture quality, small pocket size travel camera with you, with extra charger battery for back up to take LOTS, LOTS great day and night pictures. Take a lot of pictures and when you get home just delete those pictures were ruined by the street vendors throw the lighting flying toys into the night sky which ruins your supposedly great pictures. And those designer look like fake purses for you ladies....hummmm, if you want them, you should negotiate HARD. I would recommend you save your money and go to the Spanish Steps area and buy the real one. It will be worth it. Reminder, never let the street vendors see you've got lots cash. There're plenty thieves around you in this site, DAY and NIGHT. Come back in either early am or around sunset to take great pictures. When you get home, you'll see those pictures will be worth more then the nice things you've bought.
  • The Fontana del Nettuno (Fountain of Neptune) is a fountain in Rome, Italy, located at the north end of thePiazza Navona. It was once called "Fontana dei Calderari" because it was located close to a small alley with blacksmith's workshops, makers of pots and pans and of other metal based businesses, all of them generating heat.
  • Amazingly beautiful
