  • We love walking via Margutta when we're downtown for weekend shopping. And it will be the search for the deal, or the heat, that leads us to look for a sip of fresh water. In this quiet and reserved street there is the Fountain of Artists, which quenches us by queuing from the arsura. I look at it in detail and I don't think I have to justify my transport for imperial Italic art. Rome is full of it, and that's why I'm passionate about it. The fountain is from '27, and encompasses the study on the strict forms of the visionary style of those times, but it does not scare, indeed, well harmonizes with the history of the Eternal City.

  • There was a fountain of artists (Fontana degli artisti Fontana degli Artisti) protrude the roadside of the Margutta Street, one of the holy sites visited by the people who saw the movie of "Roman Holidays". The uncle was putting water in the empty plastic bottle. This is a brand new fountain in the 20th century, with its name on the easel, Paletsuto brush, and mask that would be masked. Was it the place where the artist and the artists gathered?

  • The fountain is a fountain beautiful to look at, especially because of its location in Via Margutta, the street of artists, where he shot the film "Roman holiday"! Not to be missed!

  • A cute fountain
  • just completed restoration. very nice alley
  • Beautiful!
  • It is part of the series of local fountains created in 1927 by the architect Pietro Lombardi. Fountains allude to wards' coats of arms or place activities. The water comes out of the masks and the snouts of the compasses and collects in a tank raised from the road surface.

  • In the picturesque Via Margutta, in Ward IV of Campo Marzio there is this beautiful and particular fountain, even more enjoyable thanks to the recent restoration, on the right there is a plaque that reminds him. This fountain, which is part of those dedicated to the Wards, see the special note, and is very particular and full of instruments and objects dear to artists (hence the name of fountain of the Arts or artists), since the street that hosts it is known to be used by them (spe in the past) as a place of work or exhibition of works or dwellings (just think of Federico Fellini and Giulietta Masina, Anna Magnani, Giorgio De Chirico, and many others) The travertine fountain, located embedded in a rectangular niche, consists of a marble slab molded with an all-sixth arch (where in block letters is presented the acronym SPQR), leaning against the wall, frames the fountain that at the base is shaped Triangular At the top is represented a bucket that contains brushes of various sizes and hammers by sculptor, The following lines are written on the edges: ROME YEAR V and MCMXXVII (indicating the1927 year of construction) The fountain also composes other instruments of the artists, such as the easels, on which, through shelves, rest two masks one with the cheerful expression and one with the sad one (perhaps they represent the changing soul of the artists). From the mouths of them, through cannelles, the water pours over two tubs. In the center there is a smaller tank that receives water from a cinnamon in a compass. The whole thing then pours on the grates of collection present at the edge of the earth. There are elements on the ground, embedded in the base that serve to delimit the area of respect of the composition, along with two other columns placed on the sides. . In addition to being beautiful this fountain is very used by thirsty tourists, so much so that to take pictures I had to wait not a little time. NOTE - SPQR Meaning of SPQR from the Latin "Senatvs Popvlvs Qve Romanvs". In Italian "the Senate and the Roman People" NOTE - RiON Fountains: They are very characteristic and are adorned with the emblem or the characteristic symbols of the ward they represent were commissioned in 1926 by the governor of Rome, and the next assignment was assigned to Pietro Lombardi, the architect who had already built the fountain of Testaccio's Amphorae, he executed them in about three years. Here is the list of remaining fountains: 1) ANFORE FONTANA - R. TESTACCIO 2) TIMONE FONTANA - R. RIPA 3) BOTTE FONTANA - R. TRASTEVERE 4) TIARE FONTANA - R. BORGO 5) CANNON BALL FONTANA - R. BORGO 6) LIBRI FONTANA - R. Sant'Eustacchio 7) ARTIST FONTANA - R. CAMPO MARZIO 8) PIGNA FONTANA - R. PIGNA 9) MONTI FONTANA - R. MONTI
