  • Descending by foot from the janiculum to the Vatican or the Tiber River, one encounters this beacon which has an interesting history. There is an inscription that refers to 1911, opened and at the 50th anniversary of the unification of Italy. Also it should be noted that has been raised thanks to funds raised by Italians emigrated to Argentina. The lighthouse was designed by architect piacentino Manfredo Manfredi, is about 20 metres and is inspired by the forms of classical art. Apart from a detailed description, honestly, while there are passed around many times, I must admit that I didn't give him the proper attention and an adequate importance. It is located in a part of the janiculum near prisons, allowing even possible evening appointments or meetings in intimacy. And all this leaves aside its importance and information concerning him. Then, the years go by, you look better to discover things that you thought.

  • The lighthouse lights on feast days and remember the gift of the Argentineans native Italy. It is now an integral part of the city near the monument to Anita Garibaldi

  • After be mounted atop the Janiculum, if you go down the Vatican leadership you will pass the lighthouse. The lighthouse has nothing exceptional as such, just ahead of him, you can take beautiful pictures of Rome
