  • You can't go to Rome and visit the Church of Santa Maria Della Vittoria, the ecstasy of St Teresa is one of the most ambiguous of Baroque works, represents the spiritual ecstasy with a great charge of eroticism and sensuality

  • If one going first to Rome or for a few days, it will leave thousands of things to see; It is inevitable. But, if this is not the first time, or if you are early enough, thematic tours is a way to get to know the riches of this eternal city. One of my favorites is the path "Bernini", on the Via XX Settembre, leading to a small Baroque church of s. XVII: Santa María de la Victoria. The façade says well little and, as the opening hours is short (closed from 12 to 16), many spend long. But, transferred the little door, opens a universe of colours and shapes that transports us to the 17TH century. The Church is rather dark and flash cannot be used. But eyes never tire of seeing. On the altar may, an icon of the Virgin, of Slavic origin, realizes the name of the Church, consecrated in honor of Mary and by a Catholic victory over the Protestants at Prague. While all the building is beautiful, the jewel is on the left: it is the transverberacion of Saint Teresa of Avila, Giácomo Bernini sculpted in marble as if it were in the flesh. It must be given time to remember faces, hands, feet, dresses... And viewed from several angles. Ineffable.

  • By chance we were at that point and really worthwhile. A baroque church, fascinates the statue, its form, capturing emotions!!! Free entrance
