  • The biggest ruins in Archeological park Forum Romanum/Palatino Hill etc. You must enter at the site Traian’s Forum next to Monument Viktor Emanuel and leave this to the end of visit (count with 3 hour...  more »
  • This Domus (housing group) Severiana was part of the last extension of the buildings in the Palatine area. Beautiful remains. It's a pity to think about what wonders we can still have today, but ruined by 1000 reasons over time. To visit.

  • I tried to go to and visit to the Domus Augustana Stadio, located in the East side of the Domus Severiano. But then couldn't approach the closed iron fence. Seen from a distance in building only in another part remains a little wall, most no longer could. Thought could give descended on the Palatine Hill, but at a later date to Circo Massimo side views of Domus Severiano building is still in the 16th century most everything is pulled down, Could we see was that the Arch of the population had supported the building of the Domus Severiano.

  • loved visiting here, incredible to be able to see the remains of the Roman palaces and bath houses
  • The Domus Severiana is the modern name given to the final extension to the imperial palaces on the Palatine Hill in Rome. The Septizonium, built under the rule of Septimius Severus (193 – 211 A.D.), dedicated in 203, and completely destroyed under Pope Sixtus V in 1588, is considered one of the most important monuments of ancient Rome. Italian still keep it during more than thousand year.
  • Terme Severiane Some authors speak of a thermal complex built under Domitian and only restructured and enlarged in Severiana age. Entirely restructured by Maxentius were fed by a branch of the water Claudia that climbed over the valley between the Celium and the palatine on imposing arches in part still visible. Located in the area of the "Severian constructions", the arches are located in the innermost part (on the eastern side of the Palatino Stadium); They were named Severiane on the basis of a news story in the Historia Augusta. Arranged on several floors, they were the object of excavations under Pius IX by Pontifical archaeologists and later in recent years with works of restoration. It was possible to ascertain that the thermal building dates back to the time of Domitian who probably had the intention of equipping the imperial Palace with large baths: it would be the demonstration the intermediate environments (mostly still underground) dating from the Age There. The upper part of the building (the spa area) was built in the following periods, among which the most important is the one dating back to Septomius Severus, as evidenced by the recovered brick stamps; The construction continued until the time of Maxentius. The presence of partitions, additions, reinforcements and renovations of various types, especially in the internal plans, testify to the fact that the constructions were the result of many interventions and not a single project. You can still see inside the remains of baths, drains and heating systems that was typical of the Roman baths; The architectural remains have made it clear that the interior decoration was very rich: the Capitals and columns placed on the ground floor are examples.

  • -The Colosseum, Roman Forum and impressive palatine. -The GUIDED TOUR NOT RECOMMENDED me cost 30euros, including Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine... I could have paid €12 for the ticket at box office + €5.50 for the audioguide. -See the Colosseum is incredible with guide or audioguide. -For the Roman Forum and the Palatine is NECESACIO a AUDIOGUIDE and a PLANE, since with a guide not really or 1/10 (without exaggeration) of all the wonderful ruins, because at the end with the guide of the excursion you will have to see really ' everything ' with nothing to explain what these Vien Do. -Conclusion: If you see people with card of ' STAF'adores, pass by and go to the box office. Pd: At the Vatican page at the ticket office €17 entrance to the Vatican Museum + Sistine Chapel and €8 of audioguide = €25.... After watching several tours, where the cheapest cost me €45

  • The Palace of Domitian is one of the most beautiful works of the Palatine, and although you can cross the many arches or to climb the steps to access the terraces (which you can enjoy the Circus Maximus, the Colosseum, the dome of St-Pierre in the distance (, the Capitol and the monument dedicated to Vittorio Emanuele II), the most impressive view of the building will be rather contemplated since the other length of the Circus Maximus. Special mention to the sunset that offers a particular show on this impressive façade, symbol of the power of Rome have developed once on the Palatine Hill.
