  • The column that makes a fine show in the square is an example of a coclide column that is a type of commemorative monument invented by the Romans. In this type of cylindrical spiral coil frieze artifacts along the building and there is a narrow staircase spiral staircase leading to the upper balcony (not available). The reliefs, celebrating the victories of Marcus Aurelius against the Germanic peoples. The square in which it is located is often deserted, only used it as a transit route, manned by the police to the vicinity of government buildings. It's easy to then find some time to stop by and look at this artwork

  • Between the Trevi fountain and the Spanish steps is this highest Colonna in Rome, erected in honour of the victory over the Germanic Emperor Mark Marcus. He ruled at the end of the second century AD and liked philosophizing and writing Carnet. Prior to 1588 year top columns graced the Marcus Aurelius statue in bronze. Later, on the initiative of Pope Sixtus V, it replaced a statue of St. Paul is 42 meters, 10 of them took the podium. Trunk diameter, made of Carrara marble, reaches 4 meters. Inside the column is ladder with 200 steps leading to the observation platform, which opens a beautiful view. compulsory to visit the place, very beautiful figures of warriors on the column.

  • Very nice column dedicated to Marcus Aurelius that chronicles his conquests; in the square of the same name often empty and controlled by law enforcement, stands out, and shows even better his bulk majestic.

  • One of the many sites of Rome. Worth taking a walk to take a look. It's very impressive showing ancent victories.
  • Gorgeous! Don't miss it
  • Amazing art work! It looks like a 3D-painting around the column.
  • Don't forget this place and his remarkeble history.
  • A column dedicated to Marcus Aurelius's victories. I'd have to say that compared to Trajan's column, this one is more defined in that you can see the outline of the battles more clearly. It is truly impressive.
