  • Certainly the Byzantine Phokas, Emperor from 602-610, is not remembered positively, it is known as "the usurper", for taking out his rival the Emperor Maurice. At the center of the hole there is this symbol of Byzantine imperial power, about 14 meters, erected the August 1 608, on top of which there was a gilded statue of Phocas which was destroyed almost immediately. In fact in October 610, Phocas was captured, tortured and dismembered. To see!

  • In piazza del Foro is isolated the column of Phocas, the last monument honorary built dedicated to the Emperor of the Eastern Roman Empire Phocas in 608. This Corinthian column is also the last remaining intact monument among those that adorned the square, one of the symbols of the Roman Forum.

  • Care over the central square of the Roman Forum and podium nendoroid is a pillar. Standing columns of the temple is surrounded by a confusing, most conspicuously high cylinder is fosca's column. Fosca je Emperor of the Eastern Roman Empire by the Emperor presented the Pantheon to Pope ponifatius IV's.

  • Wonderful column, it is a beautiful place of ancient architecture, conservation has been staying along the centuries, I saw him just as he wore the Sun, entering the last rays among its pillars, giving a touch of magic to the scene.
