  • Very close to Piazza di Spagna and close to the Spanish Embassy is this column that at least deserves a stop and a photo. The column dates back to ancient Rome and the Crown an image of the Virgin of the Immaculate Conception. Here is where the Pope placed a wreath of flowers on his head all the 8 of December

  • Very nice monument. I know many tourists may feel a little tired after visiting so many statues and obelisks, but this monument is worth a visit because of the history and beauty it provides.
  • It was a great surprise for me to meet "Virgin Mary" on the way to the Spanish Steps. Look carefully to the lower Left hand side statue, does he looks like Moses (by Ignazio Jacometti) a la Michelangelo's Moses sat in Basilica di San Pietro in Vincoli? You'll make the decision. Roma is a city even more beautiful at night. So, shop for a great a camera that takes good photos at night and take all the selfies as much as your SD card can take. Tips, go late night to void LARGE crowds so you can take lots great selfies for yourself without the tourists (like me) get into your selfies. But do go with friends, safety first. Now, stand next to Moses, smile......and "click"~!
  • Visible from Spanish step this statue will most certainly attract your gaze.
  • Interesting statue to be observed on the way to popular Spanish step.
  • The ad behind it killed it

Where to stay in Rome

For easy foot access to most of the city's main historical sites, consider staying in Rome's old town center. The area is conveniently placed for public transport, only a walk away from the city's main railway station. Accommodations here span all hotels sectors, from cheap hostels to luxury brand names. To avoid the steep prices and overcrowding of the town center, explore the hotels in the inner suburbs of Rome. They offer comfortable rooms and excellent food at a fraction of the price charged by the centrally located hotel chains. Another affordable option is the area around Vatican, which boasts a good selection of family-owned B&Bs.
