4.7/5 based on 750+ reviews on the web
The site of Remus' mythological attempt to found a city, Colle Aventino features the Mouth of Truth and Circus Maximus, temples dedicated to Portunus and Hercules. On one of the seven hills of Rome, you can wander the streets and parks of what is now primarily a residential district. Visit the Aventine Keyhole, a doorway near the Priory of the Knights of Malta. If you look from just the right angle, it frames the dome of St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican. Use our Rome itinerary maker to arrange your visit to Colle Aventino and other attractions in Rome.
