  • A few steps from the Basilica of San Pietro in Vincoli, first convent now houses the Faculty of engineering, the cloister with a well and the fountain, symbol of the faculty. The cloister (where he graduated here should take a photograph) is attributed to Antonio Sangallo.

  • The design is attributed to Giuliano di Sangallo and built to the will of Pope Julius II who started jobs, later followed by Cardinal Galeotto della Rovere and completed in 1517. No one knows for certain who made the project and whether there were changes in the works, other than the fact that the architect Giuliano Leno completed Southern Northern and Western arms. The complex is adjacent to the right side of the basilica of San Pietro in Vincoli, as can be seen from arches (under the Western side of the porch) that made up the Windows of the Church aisle, which were filled. II rectangular porch includes 8 arches along the long sides and 7 short sides supported by columns with Ionic capitals bearing the coats of arms of oak. On the upper floor of the cloister, the facades are very sober setting. In the Centre of the courtyard there is an elegant well, designed by Antonio da Sangallo, octagonal-shaped fountain, decorated with masks and manned by four columns 3 lobes: the overall sculpture was the work of Simone Mosca. Behind the fountain on the north side of the cloister is the so-called fountain of the Petal because a petal supports circular basin. Interesting mechanism that powered through four "channels", the medieval cistern under the pavement of the courtyard. Access to the cloister is from the entrance of the Faculty of engineering in the prescribed days and times.
