  • Baroque church, is located in the square opposite the trevi fountain. It is popularly called the reeds for the large number of columns on the façade.

  • We noticed this Church as we were walking away from the Trevi Fountain. Thought we would explore. So glad we did. After all the huge Churches we had been to see and monuments this was a beautiful smal...  more »
  • The Trevi fountain is a wonderful evening glow cloud in the sky and look on the Cathedral, and the Cathedral just as the door opened and I tried to go inside the Cathedral, naturally. Since the coming of the night the evening hour, but inside the Cathedral the Cathedral of Rome, the other had a different feel the solemn air, the Cathedral was a unique atmosphere. Just sit back and relax on the road and spent the time to remember ddeooreuneyo.

  • Visited June 2015. At the corner of one of the busiest spots in Rome, it was absolutely wonderful to pop in to escape the crowds (and pickpockets o_o). Unusually for a church in Rome, the interior is quite plain colour-wise, but it makes up for this with some really nice furnishings and stone carving. I also recommend visiting the (even smaller) church of Santa Maria in Trivio, across the square, which boasts a fabulous baroque interior!
  • I got inside because of the proximity of the Trevi Fountain. It is a nice church whose ambiance quiteness and tranquility is perfectly opposite to Trevi.
  • nice place to sit away from the crowd
  • St. Vincent's church might get overlooked due to it's proximity to a major tourist trap, but this is another amazing example of 17th c Roman baroque. It's said this church has the embalmed hearts of 25 popes! That facade is pretty crazy, I'd love to see inside.
  • A nice church, right next to the Fontana de Trevi, but I can't quite compare it to the same level as so many other gorgeous churches in Rome.

Where to stay in Rome

For easy foot access to most of the city's main historical sites, consider staying in Rome's old town center. The area is conveniently placed for public transport, only a walk away from the city's main railway station. Accommodations here span all hotels sectors, from cheap hostels to luxury brand names. To avoid the steep prices and overcrowding of the town center, explore the hotels in the inner suburbs of Rome. They offer comfortable rooms and excellent food at a fraction of the price charged by the centrally located hotel chains. Another affordable option is the area around Vatican, which boasts a good selection of family-owned B&Bs.
