Chiesa di San Francesco a Ripa Grande Reviews
Kirken er meget flot udsmykket og er nok den smukkeste franciscanerkirke i Rom. Det er også her, at Berninis sidste skulptur af Beata står. It is also here that the last sculpture of the Beata is in Berninis. On the 1st floor there is an exciting little chapel, but this should normally be unlocked.
Fuori dal solito itinerario turistico, la Chiesa di San Francesco a Ripa, posta in una piazzetta limitrofa al Viale Trastevere, è assolutamente da visitare per la sua alta spiritualità e per la meravi... more »Outside the usual tourist itinerary, the Church of St. Francis in Ripa, located in a small square adjacent to Trastevere Avenue, is a must-visit for its high spirituality and for the wonderful work of Bernini on display, the sculpture of Blessed Ludovica Albertoni, a true example of baroque ecstasy. Access to the church is obviously free and after the visit you can taste a great pizza or other delicacies of Roman cuisine in Avenue Trastevere "To the marbles", otherwise called by us Romans "the morgue", low prices in an environment inspired by the maximum Informality.
Sorge dove c'era un lebbrosario dei frati Cappuccini e lì quando veniva a Roma San Francesco sostava. Nel suo interno si può visitare la cella del Santo. Inside you can visit the saint's cell. It is worth a visit to admire both some works of Bernini and to stop to pray. Beautiful statue representing St. Francis embracing Jesus on the cross. On the occasion of the pardon of Assisi (August 1-2) great availability of Franciscan friars and beautiful celebrations
very impressing Try to see the movies "Francesca" and "Brother moon sister sun" about his life
Unfortunately, Bernini's masterpiece was covered by scaffolding. The church is not especially spectacular otherwise.
The term Ripa comes from the near riverbank of the Tiber. Inside is one of Bernini’s masterpieces, his Beata Ludovica Albertoni(1671-1675). This sculpture resembles the Santa Teresa in Ecstasis in Santa Maria della Vittoria. In addition you will love this quiet place where you can admire a sculpture by Bernini without stress.
Church in Rome. Look at the picture. Dont miss it. Extremely beauty.
Tourists, please don't go there!!! It is lovely, quiet place.
