  • The scenes from the movie, the scene, and Jesus appeared to Peter, who fled Rome to escape persecution, and Peter said, "Domine, Quo Vadis? (Lord, where shall I go?) " And he answers, "I'm going to take care of the sheep you've abandoned." Peter realized that he was wrong, and he went back to Rome and was martyred. This is the happened of the church. I'm in Apia, and it's quite a bit away from the city, so it's a great place to go with a visit to St. Catacombs, right next to it. The entrance to the cathedral has a footprint carved from the marble, which is said to be the footsteps of Jesus. The cathedral itself is small and almost kiwifruit, quietly.

  • Quo Vadis in the pocketbook. That's where the name comes from. Peter, who was moving out of Rome during the era of Nero, will meet the Lord Jesus here. Domine, Quo Vadis? Lord, where are you going? Listening to the answer of Jesus, he returns to Rome. And, it becomes like this, and it will probably have ascended in of the Houetsu. Then the pope is the successor to Peter. 10 minutes along the ancient Appia road from Circo Massimo by bus No. 118. Take care of the car, 30-45 minutes on foot.

  • Simple but beautiful little church built on the place where Peter was fleeing Rome and encountered the resurrected Jesus and asked him " Domine Quo Vadis?", "Lord, where are you going?" Jesus was going to be crucified and Peter knew he was to follow him. Great place to meditate on your own vocation.
  • A small but quite special church. Also a must stop for book lovers!
  • This small church is officially known as the Church of St Mary in Palmis or Chiesa di Santa Maria delle Piante. It is supposedly built over the site where, according to the Acts of Peter, when St. Peter met Jesus going the opposite way as he (St. Peter) was fleeing Rome. St. Peter then asked Jesus, "Lord, where are you going?" (Latin: Domine, quo vadis?), to which Jesus replied, "I am going to Rome to be crucified again". I walked here from the Catacombs of St. Callixtus (roughly a 1km walk) via the Ingresso Autobus Catacombe di S. Callisto. The above narrative is a good one to reflect on in this church, especially after the walk. As it's considered quite out of the way, there will not be many tourists around. The real footprints on a marble slab is allegedly contained in the Basilica of St. Sebastian, down the road.
  • The copy of the footsteps of Jesus according to the Catholic belief. An interesting spot to ponder and try to understand the encounter of Jesus with Peter.
  • Tiny, immensely historic place.
