  • Put it in the title: don't miss. Spectacular is what did the first Catholics in Rome to bury their dead. The entrance has cost US € 6 per person and assign a guide depending on the language you use, free by the way. The catacombs are 15°, somewhat chilly. You do a journey of 500 metres on the part that you can see. You can make short, about 45 min. approximately but totally worth. To get we have taken bus 118 in a stop which is in the Circus Maximus down to the baths of Caracalla.

  • My visit to the catacombs of St. Callixtus I'll remember as ansié for a long time and that let me down completely. Taking into account you see walls made of bones and skulls in the Paris, and who look you bag to get out to see if it has occurred you take a bone because of the curiosity, reach of Rome, after a bus ride from Circus Maximus, walk up to the entrance, expect that they assign you a guide (because the visit is not free (, go with a group and with the Guide) and see that it only that there are them hollow finally in the wall... DISAPPOINTING. Neither helped much to guide, in Spanish, was more interested in telling us how many years bore Guide, how much experience had, absurd anecdotes he had with groups of children and sing us songs (Yes, sing us) related to religion and the martyrs buried there. History of the catacombs and the life of Christians at the time, little. At the end of the visit, if it had not been sufficiently absurd review of his life and miracles, gave us a few seashells with a fish badly drawn on the concave side, since it was the symbol of Jesus... seriously, I do not think again, but I wonder if the other guides from other languages are equally mediocre... you to take long time working on something doesn't mean you're good , and if over the place that you teach is that... this, absolute disappointment.

  • A different visit. Not da creepy, since there is no "bones". They are huge. The guided visit is worthwhile.
