  • Today we can see only the mess that goes by the name of Giustiniani, Massimo, Lancellotti, owners who over time have taken place. It was originally included in a park between St John Lafantaisie, via Merulana and Columbia. The building was a distinguished architect, Borromini. Gradevolissima la façade decorated with medallions and busts. Visited only the three rooms on the ground floor which in the nineteenth century were frescoed by Nazarenes with subjects drawn from Gerusalemme Liberata, the Orlando Furioso and the Divine Comedy. Views: Tuesdays and Thursdays. Sunday morning only (ring the Bell)

  • The noble building, now part of a complex administered by clergy encloses an interesting cycle of paintings made in the nineteenth century by the German painters, called to identify their "Coven-the nazarenes". Meanwhile wonder find a monument of such keen interest in Rome, in the neighbourhood of San Giovanni; arose as a villa built in the XVII century by the noble family Giustiniani (owned the Palace at Monte Citorio, now owned by the Senate), The Casino was further enhanced at the behest of the Giustiniani family with the inclusion, on the four facades, slabs, reliefs and sarcophagi from the Roman period, following what was the fashion of the time. Purchased then from Massimo Lancellotti at the beginning of the nineteenth century that gave impetus to the decoration of the Casino. Seeing the excellent state of preservation that allows a full enjoyment of paintings narrating the great poems of Italian literature according to an exquisite neoclassical style, ranging from Petrarch to Tasso, Ariosto from three parts of Dante. Group of the nazarenes. Since the end of the war is the seat of the delegation of the Franciscans in the Holy Land and, while open to visitors certain ecclesiastics show no enthusiasm for guests, nor think we care about the development and use of these masterpieces: that would not be certain if the property fell in the State administration/cultural heritage.

  • Is an unexpected place! For those unfamiliar with the history of Rome in nineteenth-century age, surprising its location. At that time the new city plan demanded the capital of Italy appearance and trim that would live up to the dream achieved and the demolition and new construction, including in the area of the Casino Massimo Lancellotti lies a new reality that takes other function. What's left is definitely a unique property Lancellotti, inside the building is preserved a remarkable series of paintings in excellent condition, dedicated to literary topics iconographic performed by group of the nazarenes . A megalografica pictorial expression which tells the great poems of the literature.

  • Historic Casina of the Giustinians dating back to 500, remnant of a larger villa, then passed to the Massimo. Sober but elegant, it contains three rooms frescoed by a group of northern European painters called the Nazarenes in Rome. There is also an elegant garden that the current property does not want, questionable, to be crossed by visitors. Once again a hidden jewel in the center of Rome 100 meters from P.za St. John. The visit is allowed and free on some days of the week.
