    I recalled the sight of this bunker just made a visit to the nuclear bunker Ceausescu, built in fear of rocket attacks but, unfortunately I cannot recommend to visit because it is still closed. Very interesting, well prepared Maria Luisa!

    Fascinating tour, a bit claustrophobic for me but worth it! Would definitely recommend for history buffs.  more »

    After ben trawled within the numerous buildings and Museum offers this Park hosts, I visited the bunker before his current bureaucratic squabbles with the closure Superintendent who has custody of the site. In practice only lasted two years the fruition of this work especially, after a complete and expensive restoration, which was finally allowed to see what's been called the most beautiful bunker in terms of history and engineering. This my review a posthumous visit, wants to emphasize that today its closure makes the offer of real estates of villa Torlonia almost monchi, relegating the story again into oblivion, under ground. The bunker is located at a depth of six meters, under the square in front of the Casino Nobile, the family home of Mussolini, a complex structure reinforced with reinforced concrete cover, built in 1942;

  • In all major leaders of Rome "diplomatic service" under "Mussolini" Bunker feel describe as follows: "Italy's largest air raid shelter, built between 1942 and 1943 to protect Benito Mussolini and his family in the private residence of Villa Torlonia in Rome". The bunker is located at a depth of 6 meters underground with circular section concrete covered Galleries often 4 meters. This feeling of body wrap in the soil gives the visitor the feeling of how difficult the conditions were also those who were Italian State leaders. Important place to visit in order to better understand the tragic and deadly days of World War II. Quirino

Where to stay in Rome

For easy foot access to most of the city's main historical sites, consider staying in Rome's old town center. The area is conveniently placed for public transport, only a walk away from the city's main railway station. Accommodations here span all hotels sectors, from cheap hostels to luxury brand names. To avoid the steep prices and overcrowding of the town center, explore the hotels in the inner suburbs of Rome. They offer comfortable rooms and excellent food at a fraction of the price charged by the centrally located hotel chains. Another affordable option is the area around Vatican, which boasts a good selection of family-owned B&Bs.
