  • Time on their website tells you that it is opened all day but when you get there, they only have it open for the public for a few hours. And even then, they had to find someone who would take me in an...  more »
  • I had the opportunity to meet this crazy Library at a conference. The largest library in Europe !!! Do not be fooled by the fact that to enter you have to make two floors of a building that would look like a palace of private homes .... it's not !!! It's a !!! treat Near the Pantheon!

  • Having come to Rome over the last 25 years, having found this gem was quite breathtaking! This 17th century library is open to the scholars and students of today as well as to the general public between the hours of 11:30am - 1pm. The staff is quite friendly and Marianna was the librarian who escorted me to the main hall. When you first enter the main library, it really takes your breath away. The care and preservation is remarkable. The striking details in the book cases and craftsmanship is very nice too. Highly recommend both young children and adults alike visit this library and feel the history around them. The Mapped globes were pretty cool to see too and reflect on what was known of the world during those times too.
  • Impressive
  • A place of rare beauty for cultural events and precious utility for researchers. Born in 1701 as a public library, it had as its first nucleus the collection formed by about 25,000 volumes that Cardinal Jerome Casanate donated, along with the sum of 160,000 shields, to create a large Roman library directed by the Dominicans.

  • The magic of the smell of time deposited on the collection of thousands of volumes. Squeaks of the woods that break the silence of the word. "The" Library.

  • An authentic treasure not at all known; This seventeenth-century library-as well as being still accessible to everyone for the presence of a large reading room-is home to an invaluable cultural heritage, located in the main hall, which is open to all from 11:30 to 13.00. Visit it at least once or more, since inside the private room they regularly set up exhibitions of great value.
