  • In the Centre of Rome is a little hidden. Not very big but still particular, the dome square and the two statues of Angels by Bernini that originally were on the deck of the Castel Sant'Angelo and were made to move from a Pope to preserve them from the elements. As I always say in Rome is all nice enough to have the urge to watch, so well worth a visit.

  • Was craving my and my wife visiting this basilica which saw the conversion of the Hebrew Ratisbone by means of our Lady of miracle. There was a brief but experience intenza has filled my heart and soul. If you go to Rome visit this site which is ideal to replenish the spirit to the heavenly mother who always comes to us.

  • Long ago we heard the story of how Bernini created two prototype sculptures for the Bridge of Angels. The Pope declared that they were too nice to put on a bridge and kept them for himself. I never knew that they wound up in this church. They're wonderful. Don't miss them. There is also a wonderful paining of the Arcangel Michael on the right side of the naive near the entrance. It's not quite as well done as Guido Reni's but it's worth noting. Make sure you see the entire church - not just the angels. It contains a number of works of excellent quality. One of my favorite churches.
  • Open daily 6:30 to 13:00, 16:00 to 19:00. The Mass schedule has been reduced recently. In winter, Mass is celebrated: Weekdays 7:00, 8:00, 10:00, 12:00, 18:00; Sundays and Solemnities 7:00, 10:00, 12:00, 17:30, 19:00. This is an active parish churc,h as well as a spectacular edifice filled with gorgeous art. Borromini had a big argument with his patron here, which is why the dome is unfinished (it should have marble cladding). Don't miss the bell tower.
  • Impressive basilica, both inside and out, with some great works of art and an oasis-like cloister. Borromini and Mattia de Rossi are responsible for much of the architectural setting that is home to works of art by Borgognone, Bernini, Francesco Cozza and Antonio Gherardi (responsible for the fresco cycle in the cloister depicting the Miracles of St Francis of Paola).
  • Quiet location...beautiful ornate decor. Wow!
  • +JMJ One of many of my favorite Churches to visit in Rome! When on my almost annual pilgrimage to Rome (2000-2009), this is one Church ALWAYS visited. I had been searching for this Church since 1995 and found it finally through the source of a secular travel magazine. I think I finally was able to visit it in 2000 or 2001. Anyway, I was earnestly seeking to visit because I was aware of a miraculous conversion affected in the life of an anti-Catholic man by the name of Alphonse Rattisbonne. He was later Baptized a Catholic, then became a priest who worked in the Holy Land with his brother who had converted to the Catholic faith and became a Catholic priest many years before.) Also, the Church had been visited by two of my favorite followers of Jesus Christ: Saint Therese of the Child Jesus and St Maximilian Kolbe (World War II martyr at Auschwitz). The Church is small and filled with beautiful works of art which will not be seen anywhere outside of its walls. As with many Churches, to me they are like spiritual oases, places to be spiritually refreshed through participation in the Holy Mass or just stopping in to be immersed in the peace of God's own Presence therein.
