  • It is nothing new, in Rome there are hundreds of churches, but you end up thinking always the usual notes, although there are many other interesting buildings and rich in anecdotes like this one basilica. The interiors are definitely the strong point of the building. Don't miss the two statues on either side of the altar, both by Bernini. These were the only statue of Ponte Sant'Angelo created by renowned artist but, to preserve them, were moved inside the basilica of Sant'Andrea. I was very impressed also by the Dome (a riot of frescoes) and the monumental altars. A door on the right side of the aisle leads to the charming cloister, capable of giving a moment of tranquility even though we are in the heart of Rome, and think that the name comes from the location it was in the Church when it was created, in a place where, in fact, there were only steppes and bushes.

  • Are so many churches of Rome that every time we discover hidden wonders. This church, however, is not to be missed because the mystical and Baroque atmosphere together with the wonder of two Angels by Bernini that they'd be worth the price of admission as a museum. So don't miss it: it's free and very central!
