  • Visited today is always has its charm. Stop for a breath of ancient Rome. Should be valued more.

  • This time I report another gem of urban design of ancient Rome. This is the Arc of Acetari, then that would be a shift from 19 civic via del Palmer to the courtyard, where suddenly you find yourself in Medieval Rome. The yard is small and quaint, with old buildings, staircases, balconies, cats, clothes hung out and pubs where they deposited the casks of acqua acetosa, which was a sulphurous mineral water spring in the Parioli district on the left bank of the Tiber, then open countryside and on the via Ostiense just outside Rome. There is reason to believe that marketed in that courtyard came from a small source along the Tiber facing the Hospital of Santo Spirito, then disappeared for the construction of embankments. The market that there was supposed to be at that yard led the common people to call him the acetosari, then to acetari contraction. About the lack of cleanliness of the place, lamented by other commentators, it shouldn't shock much in that scene is more authentic and real than ever before when the streets of Rome were filled with headstones that exhorted to keep clean the streets at the risk of corporal punishment: lashes, strains and turns of rota. Penis which would still be topical to the filty that mortify the streets of one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

  • Tiny courtyard surrounded by medieval houses in rich shades of orange. Worth a short visit if visiting nearby Campo de' Fiori.
  • באחת הפניות הקטנות מכיכר קמפו דה פיורי, פינת חמד של ממש. הייתי גר שם בשמחה
  • It doesn't even look like being in a big city like Rome. A hidden corner that it's really worth to try.

  • Place small and secluded but very cute, a little private corner worthy of being seen.

Where to stay in Rome

For easy foot access to most of the city's main historical sites, consider staying in Rome's old town center. The area is conveniently placed for public transport, only a walk away from the city's main railway station. Accommodations here span all hotels sectors, from cheap hostels to luxury brand names. To avoid the steep prices and overcrowding of the town center, explore the hotels in the inner suburbs of Rome. They offer comfortable rooms and excellent food at a fraction of the price charged by the centrally located hotel chains. Another affordable option is the area around Vatican, which boasts a good selection of family-owned B&Bs.
