  • As a Christian I could not miss this place. To visit the place where the Apostle Paul was beheaded for his Christian beliefs was a humbling experience. It's not on the tourist map and we went out of o...  more »
  • For the Abbey beer you need are here. There is a shop within the monastery and outside the monastery you can have lunch or a drink. Also here is a shop with a terrace.

  • The place is of great spirituality between the monastery and the place where St. Paul was beheaded. Excellent handicrafts of the monks, especially the chocolate

  • I came here for Tre Fontane Trappist beer, which is one of 13 Trappist beer approved by International Trappist Association, and the only one in Italy. This trappist beer is the youngest one in ITA, but Tre Fontane has really long history, it owns important meanings to Catholicism. Believe or not, St Paul was beheaded here in 46AD. The place is located outside of town, and 15mins walking from nearest underground. It is really beautiful and quiet, worth to pay a visit.
  • In this complex of the Abbey of the Tre Fontane you can still hear an ancient atmosphere, away from the world convulsed that now surrounds it. Beautiful entranceway covered by dense and dark Oaks. Then you pass the entrance portal, the so-called Arch of Charlemagne, with frescoes on the vault that tell the legend of the donation to the Abbey of the fief of Ansedonia, Argentario and Giglio island. Inside there are three churches of which the oldest is the austere Cistercian Romanesque, preceded by a portico with interesting inscription of 1,100. Most impressive night of Christmas and Easter masses, officiate by Trappist monks.

  • Not so much to see, you can taste the trappist!

  • This affects, in particular, the silence, despite the via Laurentina practically next door
