  • Coming up in the country from the bottom of the Valley, the Castle appears suddenly, almost unreal ... and you don't know if it's a rock or something wonderfully perched there by human hands. Here's another of the wonders of our country that unfortunately are not well known, appreciated and valued and yet, with its walls, its towers, its location, is a witness, like few others, weather that saw him protagonist. Arrived in the center of the country, it is worth making those 10-15 ' of convenience through the streets or a short ascent along a path just inaccessible, but still accessible to most people, to get to the Castle. The ticket costs the same as a coffee served at the table in the bar, but the emotion that will be much greater! Before entering, look at the walls and linger for a few photos. Then, you walk through the entrance portal and you find yourself in a place and in a surreal silence: from some loopholes or Windows of the inner court, the look covers bird's whole vast province teatina, and here you may be satisfied. But go beyond can visit what was once the Castle Church (now strip; its walls host a recent show photos with artistic views of the country); climbs again to visit the prisons and the Tower; pause for a moment of your attention on the instruments of torture that fill the various environments and imagine what stories have seen and lived through those walls. Climb up to the Tower, look out of the window and breathe! The scent of flowers in spring, or the smell of wood burning in fireplaces in winter will remain forever etched in your memory, and if you don't you will return in person, of course, with your stories, you will bring here a lot of people.

  • It's not easy to get to Roccascalegna (especially if you've never heard of ni), but once you are in the presence of a historical monument built over a natural monument! Really impressive watching! You should also visit the Interior of the fortress and the pleasant village.

  • Very nice Castle, not far from where I live. To visit! Comfortable shoes to be able to visit so you can climb to the top.

  • Beatiful place. Nice to visit in september, during the evening. Not crowded
  • The refurbishment works completed about 15 years ago made this castle a little gem in the core of Abruzzo. It was exactly 18 years since my last visit and despite the size of the castle are not impressive, the location and shape are something remarkable you should not miss if you come in Abruzzo.
  • If you like medieval defensive structures this is a must see, Amazingly cool Castle! Sadly most of information is only in Italian so for the rest us that don't read Italian will have to just imagine that history of this place :s
  • Molto carino e rilassante.
  • A beautiful castle preserved in accordance with the original materials and structures. Perched on a rocky spur overlooking a panorama of 360°. There are drinking fountains and restrooms along the way. Very good ticket at € 3.00 the whole is free of charge for children under a certain age (I think 10 years) more info on the site of the fortress.
