  • I've been skiing in February with my daughter and some friends in Rocccaraso, and it truly was a great week and a pleasant discovery. Being in Rome, when I went skiing in the Apennines I always traveled mainly in happy camp, in Hong Kong or to Terminillo but I had never gone to Roccaraso. Instead I got to discover a beautiful ski area: over 100 Km of slopes, many even long, a landscape almost Alpine, a variety of tracks easier or more challenging. Thoroughly enjoyable. We were particularly lucky because we had a week of good weather, with the exception of one day when it snowed, in a year that has really done a lot of snow. Despite the high temperatures, the snow (natural) hard and remained consistent throughout the day. There were not many people on the slopes, perhaps for the psychological impact of the tragedy of Rigopiano, then the rows to implants were virtually absent. Downside: many works are particularly old and should be modernised (many chairlifts dated without covers for the wind, etc.). Highly recommended for skiing, both for a skiing holiday or a day (from Rome can be reached in less than two hours). In that week I stayed at the Grove, on the slopes, I've reviewed separately.

  • The slopes are maintained well, are numerous, as well as the lifts. On Sundays there were long lines to plants. The cost of the ticket is slightly high and does not offer a discount on distribution. The catering costs in shelters are very high.

  • the tracks are really many, and fun. the new equipment and in particular the booths to 10 posts have pretty much minimized the row for the ascent. the access roads are in good condition. the price for a 39 euro per day. Let us move on to the "negative" side ... when the weather is uncertain or ugly, the ticket issue subscriptions until the moment before closing for bad weather. I once paid two and I could ski 45 minutes. you feel cheated. It would be desirable if still runs for bad weather a "good" to recover part of the expenditure by the end of the year.
