  • After going to lunch at restaurant La Rambla, at the direction of the owner, we went to visit the sanctuary of the Madonna dei Lattini. It passes through the Centre of Roccamonfina and then you climb between homes and chestnut trees. When you reach the top there is a large car park. The scenery is very beautiful and is very quiet. In the square opposite the church there are some benches where you can sit and relax. The cloister is lovely with ancient frescoes. Then you can visit the cave where it was found a statue of the madonna. Then if you want you can also attend mass from outside contemplating the beautiful landscape and enjoying the fresh air of the surrounding chestnut woods.

  • Great Celebration, climate of serenity. The sanctuary is well cared for by the Franciscan friars.

  • characteristic Hermitage, located at 850 meters/sl, from where you can enjoy a great view of landscapes declined to the Gulf. the view and the heart of immensity. The Hermitage quite interesting (1400-1500 d.c.) for interesting decorations and arched structure, the statue of the Madonna with child, in addition to some frescoes depicting scenes of St Francis. Personally the area more than impressed and the cave of the discovery of the statue (it is said of a sheep that towards the end of 1400 found the cave and that Pastor following it saw, in the small ravine, the statue of our Lady), the small cave with all its signs, votive, envelops you and get a sense of peace, serenity ... a prayer you arises ...

  • Roccamonfina Trekking Under the stars (July) A trek through the woods of Mount Lattani, where you can learn about the ancient art of terraced agriculture (how farmers once guided water to crops using local stones). You can also see Hobbit-like buildings which effectively keep a constant temperature all year round, and at the end of the trek, the Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Lattani awaits you.
  • Place that brings peace and tranquility, surrounded by chestnut trees. The area around is full of green and you can taste the ice cream parlors and sfogliatella chestnuts
