  • The origins of the village take starts around the middle of the 9th century when the Lombards imposed, to avoid further infighting, Division of the Principality of Benevento and Salerno. The border passed just near and it was bordered by the River in order to control the borders the Prince of Salerno, he built the fortresses of Monticchio and Guardia dei Lombardi, while that of Benevento had built the fortresses of St. Angelo in peach and Rocca San Felice. In this last construction braved the soldiers and the captain. Soon the inhabitants nearby locations, heartened by the presence of soldiers, began to move near the Manor, giving rise to this beautiful village characterized by narrow streets and corners very picturesque.
