  • We covered all the "path of peace", which travels around the loop monte Brione. The first stretch, to the East, overlooking the Lake and the town of Torbole ... very scenic! Along the way we saw fortifications used during the first World War: strong Garda and strong battery of medium are the first two and are excellently preserved. Then, pointing toward the North, you get to Fort St John, of which remain only the walls. The tour continues down towards the Northwest and you arrive at the imposing building of the powder magazine. Then, turning back toward shore. The location is really nice panoramic and naturalistic point of view, both from the point of view of military architecture (in the vicinity of buildings we found explanatory panels). The only flaw is that, while to the second strong the trail is well maintained and well marked, then we haven't found clear signs of the path and we necessarily had to make do with gps phones. Too bad!

  • I recommend the path of peace: very simple, but arrives on the basket of Mt and from there you can admire the Lake!

  • Only someone who was there can understand the historical-naturalistic beauty of this place, magic, peace, once the theatre of war. In porto s. Nicolò you can take the path towards peace along safely on the South side of the mountain with a wonderful view of the Lake. You go through a typical Mediterranean vegetation and can be found even the forts built during the first world war. On the West side of the mountain is planted with olive trees. One of the most northern crops that exist thanks to the Mediterranean climate generated by the Lake Garda. Maybe that's why the oil brings strong emotions to those who taste it!
