  • On my last outing at 5 Terre, some parts of the coastal path (issue # 2 or blue) were unusable or under maintenance. Even when they are open can be asked a toll that this trail is a good alternative to reach Riomaggiore instead of Via dell'Amore. It starts to climb up a flight of steps for which is more challenging but from above there are nice views and cultivated areas which is nice go before the descent to the village.

  • We took the path from Riomaggiore: you climb up several stone steps and then dips down to Manarola, steep uphill and downhill either. In an hour still doable. Spectacular views (we found sunny, 16 degrees in December). Return possible with convenient train service (one per hour). In Riomaggiore then went swimming ... great!

  • We made this way connecting these 2 villages of cinque Terre. Total time: 1 hour. Well, there are a lot of steps and we spend 30 minutes to climb 30 to go down then. But as the path along the sea was closed, frankly we not regretted. Small clarification for those who hesitate to view 1st markets: even our 10 year old daughter sports not at all was thrilled to be mounted from the top, you will have a splendid view
