  • Cinque Terre National Park is beautiful. You can hike the villages or take a boat tour of the five of them. The water is amazing and you can stay and swim for hours at a time. If you have the time...

  • We started from la Spezia train station, unfortunately you can't buy a day ticket at the machine, just online or at the counter. Despite a visit not in the main season it was very busy at the counter. The trains runs often, so despite the masses of people there was plenty of room. The route of the train is through tunnels most of the way son you don't really get much in terms of views. The villages are very scenic but the narrow streets and masses of people make it a bit tricky to move around freely. All in all a good day out but definitely a very touristic destination. I think a tour on a boat would be the best way to capture the best views.
  • Getting here was a hassle but it’s nice here. Get to take some nice photographs and some descent hikes. The food here is not that good as I’m pretty sure it’s all tourist traps but it’s still fun to wonder around. Some of the villages are better than others. I would highly recommend visiting if possible.
  • Amazing views and great hiking paths. The paths along the sea were all closed though which lefts us with two options: either you walk up and down the hills (which can be very hard because of the sun and the elevation) or you take the train from one village to another (but you miss the great views). We decided to walk the whole way and it was worth it. Each village has water fountains which are essential if you want to make it and not be completely beat and dehydrated.
  • Trail can be a bit steep at times but all in all very walkable trail and the views are fantastic. Most impressive way to see the different cities. Hiking shoes recommended but certainly not required.
  • Beautiful rugged coastline. Pity two sections of the hiking path on either side of Manarola are still closed due to landslides a couple of years back. Best access for now remains via ferry .. but this also brings in the challenge of over tourism. The spiritual aspect of the pilgrims walk is taken over by curious stores and crowded beaches. Fried calamari cone is still a favored snack and is delicious.
