  • Groppo is a less attractive on a hillside in the town of Manarola / Riomaggiore, consists of about two dozen tightly-packed homes and not characterized by special features. Except, is a passionate wine drinker, because here is the società Agricola Cooperativa 5 Terre, where the harvesting of small seeds are collected and read out different qualities, and processed. Wine tastings are common here. Whether they themselves should do this to, I can do not to judge, because I am not specialist. But General Terre wines will be awarded to the Cinque no high-class quality - unless one speaks the local sweet wine from the Sciacchetrà. But above all, the establishment of the cooperative is therefore commendable, as without them even more of the Cinque Terre would expire the grandiose terraces landscape, as is already the case.

  • Well worth the visit. Possibility of purchase of wines and local products. Prices are on the high side for both wines (less even in country) and jars of pesto etc staff and willing to try it.

  • Another picturesque village overlooking the sea. Riomaggiore is the beginning of Lover's Lane, a path that leads to Manarola.  more »
