  • Finally a modern church from beautiful with a fantastic light even on a rainy day. Linger on details, the benches, the doors and the Esplanade, with benches, litter bins and lights. Truly incredible find a work like lost on middle of the Apennines. A harsh criticism the move towards the Administration: the square should be clean, and not used for parking, ... but you can not promote a treasure of the genre?

  • I visited this church on 27 August 2017. I had known for a long time, and taking advantage of the planned visit to the nearby Rocchetta Mattei, I wanted to spend a half hour to discover this unusual architecture. It must be said that the present building substantially embodies the idea of the designer, as much as the sheer realization diverged from the original project for the use of different materials. One used, the cement, strengthens and emphasizes the idea of coolness that is when you enter the vast interior. Without entering into the merit of the value or otherwise of this realization, I would certainly enhance the stylistic qualities essential and pure and light. The Church is lit by large Windows face North so that the Sun has a hit with its direct light, giving the effect of a diffused light and equal extremely comforting and soothing. The space layout is basically traditional, but already you can see some hints that precede the architecture post-Council, as the small grandstand churchlike placed to the right or the baptistery designed as a standalone environment always on the right hand side. Deriving from Nordic architecture is evident in both the rigour of internal white light that unifies everything; interesting also the elements outside the corridor on the left which acts as a covered porch and the curious copper sheet roofing. Down the corridor, a bust depicting the priest promoter of the building is the work obscene; better a commemorative plaque.

  • Sight and magazine on multiple occasions. The last visit dates back to last month. The troubled construction of the Church (designed in the mid-' 60 century from Finnish Alvar Aalto, with project developed after his death by his wife, realized then since 1976 with a significant reduction in construction from a local Builder that replaced the planned large curved wooden beams with precast prestressed concrete, construction and completion of the churchyard only 30 years later) invalidated the sense of secular spirituality and "Protestant" of the Interior. Dominates the reason that takes over the mystical sense of religion. Great attention is paid to the "genius loci" near the River Rhine, so there remains a sense of naturalness to the building, despite its size quite impressive in the building. A very informative visit and a consequent reflection on how to handle the "sacred" that lives within us.
