Piazza Cavour, Rimini

(4.6/5 based on 550+ reviews on the web)
With roots dating back to the 13th century, Piazza Cavour represents the historical hub of Rimini's social and political life. Though the Piazza Tre Martiri is considered the center of the city, this square is much larger and shows the development of Rimini during the Middle Ages. Walk through the piazza, sit at a cafe, and take in views of the Pigna Fountain, Pope Paul V statue, and many nearby palaces dating from the 16th century. Pause to take in the pieces of history side-by-side with the bustle of everyday life in this busy square. Browse the stalls of the buzzing on-site market if you're visiting during its hours of operation. With our world travel planner, Rimini attractions like Piazza Cavour can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

  • lovely ambiance and fantastic food!
  • Another old town square with a fountain in its center
  • Magic square, the heart of the city of Rimini. Here stands the Town Hall, the Palazzo Garampi Tiberius the Podestà, the old fish market, the statue of Pope Paul V, the famous Arch of Augustus and the roosters, under renovation for a new openness to opera performances and, above all, to the public. In the winter evenings, Piazza Cavour is the centerpiece of the movida riminese: dalla Vecchia Pescheria arise the so-called "Wine", resulting in Piazzetta San Gregorio, where there was an Inn where Giovanni Pascoli lived. Home to flea markets and antiques, as well as major events of various kinds, Piazza Cavour is undoubtedly an elegant setting for a beautiful city.

  • Is the largest square of Rimini by young people (and not) in the winter evenings: from here the evenings and Saturday afternoon walks.

  • This is the second square of Rimini, where there is common and where alas the Mayor. Certainly the Tiberius bridge, the entrance to the theater and the Arch of Augustus are very striking.
